Watch a video?

Leah is very aware of when the video camera comes out. Even if we try to hide it from her, she just knows! So this makes it VERY difficult to get a good, candid video. As soon as she notices the camera she wants to "watch a video"!

For fun.

Baby chicks

Just when you think you have enough babies to take care of, it's time to add more chicks to the flock. Our older chickens are almost 4 years old now and really slowing down with egg production. So meet our new family members. 10 super cute baby chicks! George and Senora think they are play things of course. Good thing the kittens were moved our to the chicken coop on day two that we had them. Dave and I were both too allergic to have them in the house. They are LOVING it out there and are now out roaming with the chickens every day. They baby chicks however will have to be in the house under a heat lamp for a while until they get some feathers. Away from dogs, cats and many other potential predators that reside here. They are the only "chicken" allowed in my kitchen!

Spring?

It has been so nice here. It really does feel like spring many afternoons. Leah has had so much time to play out in the yard with all the animals and help Dave do some digging. I think she finally feels as comfortable out in the yard as she does reading books in the house. This is great news for Dave who would spend every day all day outside working if he could. And very good news for me as I get a lot more done in the house if Leah is out with her dad!

32 weeks

A couple belly shots from week 32. These were taken in the morning after my daily swim. By evening, I am about 10 pounds heavier, or so it feels. I have entered the stage of daily bloating. FUN! So if you are planning any parties or gatherings and would like me to attend, please schedule them in the a.m. hours as I have many more wardrobe options at this time of day.
Baby Kate update: She is growing very well and continuing to make me progressively uncomfortable. My midwife seems to think she may be a bit early(not counting on it) and will very likely come fast(again, hate to plan on that and be disappointed)! The contractions continue to be strong but still not very productive. I am advised to head to the hospital immediately at the first sign of labour. Really?!! Even after having been through birth I am not sure how I will know the difference sometimes. Maybe when I feel the head coming out?
