Black-eyed Lou

If asked her name, Leah will say "Lou". Dave began calling her Leah Lou many months ago and it stuck. Even I call her Lou sometimes. Well, this is the face you get now when the camera comes out. I was trying to get a good picture of her shiner she got at playgroup today. Ya, they are a rough bunch! Okay, not really, she fell while running with a ball in her hand. The ball punched her in the eye on landing. Tough girl, I think she cried for maybe 10 seconds.

Sandbox?

I have been trying to trick Dave into building Leah a sandbox but there are so many other priorities right now, like getting water to the garden . But this will do for now, a bit of sand spread out on the bricks! We had a great visit with Mary, Joel, and Kameron this week!

Check-up.

Leah had a great visit with Dr. Katie yesterday.

She is 26lbs 2 oz (73%) and almost 33" long(80%).

Afterward, she got a new pool!

Favorite Country

Leah has a book with babies from many different countries. Her favorite is Iraq.

Grandma?

Do I pace while I am on the phone? I don't think Dave does so she must get it from me?

Funny Grandma

I love the fake laugh!

18 months!

It's tough to get a good picture these days. You really have to catch her by surprise or she will pull out the cheese grin. Here, Leah is eating her new favorite food, grapes!

Sad, bad days.

This last eye tooth has been really hard on all of us. Days and days and days of this. But, I think we are finally on the other side. Hopefully we will have a nice long break now until the two-year molars come in.

Our little book worm.

Leah's love for books is really growing. She is now a very active participant and will often start or finish the sentences in many of her books. The best is listening to her read to herself and how she matches the inflection in my voice when I read. So sweet.

Panty Raider

Okay, this is very embarrassing for me but yes, these are my underwear. Leah figured out how to open my underwear drawer and finds it hilarious to put them on her head. She runs around the house playing peek-a-boo with herself in front of the mirrors. My strategy was to ignore it in hopes that it would not be funny for long. It has not worked, she really cracks herself up. It may be time to move the underwear.

Three-wheelin'

We FINALLY have bark. I have been waiting for this day for almost
2 years now. It seems like we always had other, more pressing priorities in the yard than bark around the trees. We need another load but it's progress!

Just toss it.

Like most kids her age, Leah loves being nude. She also really enjoys throwing things away lately. I captured her doing both here. We really have to watch the garbage and recycle cans, she will toss ANYTHING!
