What a mess!

I would dare say my biggest challenge adjusting to motherhood has been the mess! I was doing okay keeping up with the mess of 13 chickens, 3 goats, 2 cats, and 3+ dogs. Then I added a husband that loves to do projects and things got a little tricky. Add a toddler and this is what happens when I take the morning off! I surrender.

Fun with foam.

Leah is having so much fun learning her letters and numbers.
My current favorite is "Q" she says it "coot".

That's what I get!

I really needed a nap today, REALLY. So Dave and Leah went outside for an hour or so to let me sleep. This is what I woke up to.

Portuguese Counting

Not quite as good as English yet but still super cute! I am sure only Dave and I really understand most of what she is saying still, it feels like our own secret language!

Numbers and Colors

This past week Leah started counting to ten! It is so cute. The
numbers 4&7 are a bit weak and hard to understand but the rest are really quite clear, but then I am her mom and know that when she says "bitch" its really "please". Also, she knows and says the colors blue and yellow so far very consistently, purple and orange sometimes. What a fun stage! I hope to post video soon but our battery charger for that camera is missing. It may be time to order a new one.

Watching for Dad.

Dave has been working a lot more than usual the past few weeks. Leah enjoys watching for him to arrive home.

Boo

This was Leah playing a game of boo with the bunny. It's the new favorite game. She plays with her babies, dinosaurs, Dave and I, passing cars, anything really. And all the time. She thinks it's way funny.

Bunny duty.

Leah and I are on bunny duty this week. Our neighbors are out of town and have 11 baby bunnies and 5 adults. This little white bunny is our favorite, so mellow and cute. Maybe an Easter Bunny in Leah's future? I need to leave some fancy bunny cage design ideas laying around the house and Dave will not be able to help himself. He will HAVE to build a cage! Once you get him thinking about a project, there is no stopping him. Anyone have a book of bunny cage ideas they can leave on his desk at work?

Boaf.

I let Leah pick a boaf(flower) last weekend. She REALLY loved it. Carried it around with her all morning until it fell apart.

All words that start with p or f in English, start with a b in Leahese. Pillow-bop, phone-bof, flower- boaf, poop- boop.
I am going to miss it some day soon. Her language is developing so fast now, she surprises me daily with new words. The best new one, ummmm. When she goes to the pantry to find something to eat she will stand in front of it and say ummm umm. Or when she is picking out a book, ummm ummm. I just want to squeeze her!!! Its way too cute!
She learned this from Dave of course.

Out.

We had a fun few days with Grandma and Aunt Dell this week. The weather was so perfect for relaxing outside. This is their last visit with us now until fall, they travel home next week. Leah has really grown attached to them this winter and will really miss them!
