Peek-a-boo

I had to do a video of this because she loves it so much. Has since about 4 months old but now it's constant. Any time she has something to cover her face with, she will play peek-a-boo!

Carrot Disaster

Yes, this really happened. She head butted the spoon.

Thanks for the monkey dress Grandma and Grandpa!

Miles

Leah and Miles had another great play date this week. I think Leah continues to overwhelm Miles a bit with her never ending energy. I can't wait until she is chasing him around the yard!

Baby Chloe

Chloe enjoying Leah's swing. So cute!

I'm gonna get you!

So Leah's first word was dada, you can see why here, fun. It's been her word of the day for a few weeks now. She still says it at random, but I know she is starting to relate it to Dave as well. You can see in one of these videos, she says it when she sees him! She also says it over and over if he leaves after they have just had a good play time together. I am so jealous, but love it . Maybe we should switch names, I will be dad and he can be mom, just until she can say mom anyway.

Nightime Scream

Now that Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt, Nicole, Matthew, and Chloe are all visiting for the week, Leah has decided to do some major scream fests again at night. This is a short clip of the 3 a.m. scream from last night, no picture, just sound. Another tooth coming?

Who?

This morning, after Dave left for work, Leah made her first imaginary friend! She really was talking and smiling at the air. You see a bit of it in the beginning of this video. Spooky! I think the thought of spending the whole day with me again was just too much for her to take.

Crooked smile

I am really hoping someone else will have experience with this. On Friday, July 9
2010, Leah's smile went crooked. Yes, I know the exact date because it was shocking! The smile starts out fine and then BAM. The chiropractor assures me she is just experimenting with her new found control over her jaw, REALLY? I've been working a lot more lately, so Dave has been on baby duty, what did he do to her?

Update

Things are going great!
Leah slept 12 hours last night and 11 the night before! I am so glad she is feeling better. I love the striped green PJ's.

Working on the Wave

Leah is trying hard to get the wave down. Sometimes its a flapping arm, other times she is a bit more focused like above. I love watching her figure out how to use her hands!

Start over.

The screaming has been so much worse again this last week. To the point where even Dave agreed something had to be wrong. And for Dave this is big! Dave has the "she will be fine tomorrow" attitude that I really love him for. Usually helps keep my mom anxiety in check. But something really has been wrong off and on for a few months now. So after many visits to the pediatrician, a whole bottle of Motrin, a whole lot of mylanta, and really no answers, we went back to the chiropractor.
We had taken Leah to the chiropractor a bit when she was a newborn, to get all the womb and birth kinks worked out but had not been back much since. That was my mistake. After one adjustment yesterday, we have been scream fest free! She has gone down for her naps without a peep and slept 9 hours last night! Its like the good old days! I know I might be getting a little ahead of myself, its only been 27 hours, but its been 27 hours of joy. Just 20 min ago I was making raspberries on her stomach listening to her giggle. She started rubbing her eyes, I put her down in her crib and presto, she is asleep. This is compared to the arched back, stiff as a board, scream fests of late.
Other things that may be contributing. We took her off the meds. That's right, cold turkey no more prevacid. So its quite possible things could get worse again before they get better for good.
I also keep a food log now, both my food and hers. I really hope its not the popcorn making her scream! And I am starting over with solids for her. I was very careful about introducing them one at a time to see if she had a reaction, but just in case. Wish us luck and I will keep you updated!

7 Months!!!!

Wild! Leah is so fun to be around these days. She is trying hard to communicate and does very well with her great facial expressions. Still working on scooting, whew, not quite mobile yet. And loves to talk your ear off, mostly da da da da da da da ga ga ga ga da da da da ba ba ba da da da da da da. I am working hard to get some ma ma's in there but no luck. She LOVES music and dancing. Really loves when I dance for her and make a fool of myself, that gets lots of giggles. And if she is really out of sorts all Dave has to do is play the guitar and she is instantly mesmerized. If only Dad were around all the time. Also really enjoys other kids. Cousins, neighbors, who ever will give her attention. We still have a few scream fest days. And although these are getting less and less, Dave believes his hearing has suffered permanent damage. But all in all, super fun little girl!

Things that happen when Dad is home

And spit up?
