Santa pj's

Leah and I let Dave sleep in a bit on Christmas morning. This is a little clip of her waiting patiently in her Santa pj's.

Christmas photos lost!

We took some really great shots of Leah on Christmas morning checking out all her super fun gifts! Unfortunately, at the end of the day, we all decided it would be a great idea to get a family photo. In the process of figuring out how to use the timer on the camera, we lost ALL of our Christmas morning and day photos! SO SAD!

I may put her back in her Santa jams and do Christmas again tomorrow. Until then here are a few family photo shots.

A serious conversation

Leah's moves

I am not sure how she does this. I tried it and can't even do it once without bracing myself with my hands. For her, it's necessity. She WILL NOT put down the toys to dance!

Pat The Bunny

This is LONG overdue! This book has been one of Leah's favorites since about 6 months old. I was worried she was going to outgrown it soon and stop playing along. So before she does, a peek at Pat The Bunny! I must say not as cute as it was at 6 or 7 months but still fun.

Christmastime

Leah has a new book that says Christmastime is one word. Really? Christmastime? Dave and I both had no idea this was one word! Made it through spell check too. Where have we been?
Leah loves my Grinch.

A match!

I love that Leah's eyes match this cup when she is near it!

Phoenix

We took a trip to Phoenix last week. The first few days were a bit rocky but the last two were great. Leah got to meet her Great Grandma Howes! We really hope to go back again soon, the weather is so perfect this time of year!

Party Pictures

Here are a couple. More to come VERY soon.

First gifts

Leah opened a few gifts early in the day on her birthday. Dave and I had a book made for her of many of the animals and people in her life. She LOVES it! She also got to open a fleece blanket with DUCKS on it, WOW, thanks Grandma Schmidt!

The morning after

Leah did not really have a chance to see her birthday gift until the morning after her party. What fun!!! That's my kind of birthday, it goes on for days!

But Dad lets me!!!!

I have a feeling I am going to be hearing this a lot!

Keg Catasrophe

Leah's first birthday party was not the kegger we had planned. Two days before the party, the whole five gallons was on our basement floor! Yup, smells like a frat house!

Worland and back!

A few shots from our trip to Worland last week to visit family and bring my grandmother and her sister down to Salt Lake for the winter! These last few are in the town of Thermopolis, we are at the WORLDS LARGEST MINERAL HOT SPRINGS! It's not as big as you would think. Apparently the world does not have very large mineral hot springs, who knew?

Crybaby

It's really sad. Leah made Miles cry for the first time at our play date this week. Well, Elmo did it first, then Leah. Then Elmo and Leah. Not sure Miles will want to play in Farmington much longer, there is an evil red possessed toy and a really mean baby that hits. Can't you see it in her eyes!

Mullet Hack

Leah got her first attempted haircut yesterday. I think it may be a multiple day process. We did manage to get the kill the mullet and that was my main agenda! It really needs some touch up work though. Here is a little before and after.

Pure Goat Love!

Bedroom Campout

Thanks to the Carver fam for passing along this play tent, it's a hit!

Funny food.

Having a mouth full of food is apparently hilarious. Non-stop giggles at mealtime.

Fresh dirt!

They still can't get enough of their new chicken bath.

More of a hot tub really with all the fresh compost.

Finished!

All that's left is a mountain of clean up. Literally.
Mary and Joel came out on Saturday and help with the finishing touches just in time for the storm!

Duck talk

Trail time

I managed to drag Dave away from his projects long enough to hike with us for a bit yesterday!

11 Months!

Wow, I can't believe how much Leah has changed in the last two months! We missed the 10 month post due to major upset after traveling to Seattle and Portland. But this month, I think we have turned a corner.
Leah is FINALLY feeling better! YES! Not one scream fest or crank day in over two weeks now! Everyone told me it would happen over night and it really did. She is even down to one dose of reflux medication a day and no drops. Life is so fun when your baby feels good.
The down side of this is she is in to EVERYTHING. Now that she feels well, she in crawling around like a crazy baby, checking out every nook and cranny. He favorite thing is to try and crawl into the bathtub to get her rubber duck. She calls him "DU". And of course dads forbidden box of crap at the end of the couch is so much fun.
My favorite new thing, her snuggling. Perhaps she felt so crappy before she didn't want me close but now, she is a super snuggler. Its so sweet.
11 month favorites
Favorite toy: Toss up between her duck and baby
Favorite book: Hop on Pop. She loves to scream when it comes to the part "STOP you must not hop on pop". And I mean scream!
Favorite food: This changes daily. Yesterday, spinach tofu burrito. Day before yesterday, avocado. Leah can eat a whole avocado in one sitting.
She continues to love ALL the animals and is thrilled to see the goats, chickens, cats, dogs and our neighbors horses EVERY time. She is also very fascinated with trees. I could spend all day letting her touch the leaves and trunks of various trees in the yard. So cute!
I can't wait to see what this month brings.

Yes he did!

Dave went out like this tonight! A last minute costume using a petti skirt I picked up for him to wear to Leah's birthday party next month. I just wish we would have thought of it a few hours earlier. He could have worn it to the neighborhood Halloween party hosted by the local religious establishment. Bummer.

A Multitasker!

First ride

Yesterday we went on our first family bike ride. Leah loved it! So much better than the stroller! We have so many great bike trails in Farmington I am very excited at the possibilities.
